FAQS

what is steps towards a cure?

Steps Towards a Cure is a virtual challenge, run throughout NF awareness month in May, with the goal to raise funds for research and bring more awareness to the lifelong genetic condition, neurofibromatosis (NF).

Why take a step for nf?

NF is a genetic disorder that affects 1 in every 2,000 people and causes tumours to grow on nerves throughout the body, including the brain and spine.

It is unpredictable, progressive and there is currently no cure

More needs to be done to fund research into better treatments and to eventually find a cure.

what is NF Awareness month?

May is NF awareness month. It's a time to improve understanding of the signs and symptoms of NF, to share the stories of real people affected by the condition and to educate Australians on the diagnosis and treatment.
